Meat Eater from Vietnam

Posted in Nightmare, Spiritual, Strange Incident on April 23, 2008 by hungzaibackup

This story took place in a small town in rural Vietnam. It was told to me by my uncle. People in that town lived in houses very near to one another. There were houses built closed together with a mere 5 feet wooden fence separating their backyards. The backyards double up as their kitchen.

Back then they didn’t have that great of a refrigerator to keep their meat from getting spoiled. So, the only way for them to keep their meat was to put salt on the meat and store it in the kitchen at the backyard. They didn’t have any special container to put it in but just inside a shelf on the table. Everything was well and peaceful in that small town until something strange happened to a family.

On the night when it all started, the housewife of that family routinely store their extra meat in the backyard. The next morning, as she was making breakfast, she found the piece of meat missing. Furious, she went around asking everyone in the family where or what did they do with the meat. Nobody knew what happened to that piece of meat and they didn’t give it much thought too. The housewife, too, although a bit upset, just went to the market and got more meat.

That night, she did the same thing again with their extra meat, but this time she kept it in a different shelf to make sure no one would take it away. The next morning, she went to the backyard and checked but again found the meat missing.

By then, she was very upset. She complained to her husband that their meat was stolen two nights in a row. They decided they should investigate further to solve the problem. The husband suggested that they stay up that very night and keep an eye at the backyard. They were determined to catch the culprit that very night.

That night, the couple sat by the window overlooking their backyard. They turned off the lights after their children had gone to bed to make sure no one can see them from outside. It was a hot, full moon night with only the sound of cricket and owls howling. Everyone in the small town was already in bed by midnight, except, of course, the couple who was getting more and more anxious.

It was slightly after 1am when the couple saw the shadow of a person jumping over the fence into their backyard. Under the bright moonlight, they could work out it was a woman though they couldn’t see exactly who she was. Then, the woman walked closer and towards the piece of meat sitting in the shelf just a few feet away from them. ‘Once she got her hands on the meat, we will rush out and catch her red handed,’ the wife whispered to her husband.

As the woman reached out for the meat, the couple slowly moved towards the door, however, they were stunned by what they saw next. The woman was holding on to the meat and eating it raw! Under the bright moonlight also, they saw who the woman was. She was actually the old lady from next door. What gave them the creeps was the way she looked. The old lady looked as if she had been possessed. She was taking big bites and tearing the meat apart with her sharp teeth and fangs. After finishing up the meat, she just ran and jumped over the fence like a strong youth.

The next morning, the couple went over to their neighbour’s house to consult with them over what had happened. Of course, their neighbour was shocked to hear what had happened, and refused to believe that it was the grandmother of the family who did it. The neighbour told them that it was impossible because the old lady had been very ill for the last couple of days. The couple thought they have been mistaken and didn’t give much thought to the old lady.

That night, the husband and wife went out of town for some dealings. They left their one year-old baby at home with a babysitter. By midnight, the babysitter had put the baby to sleep and was sitting in the living room waiting for the couple to come back. The couple, however, did not come back until almost one o’clock. Just as they stepped foot into the house, they heard a loud scream from the baby’s room followed by an agonising cry. The three of them rushed to the baby to see what had happened.

As soon as they got into the room and turned on the lights, the parents’ darkest fear came true. The old lady from next door was on her meat hunt again. However, there was no meat in the backyard that night. So, she had come into the baby’s room and was gnawing at the baby’s arm instead! The old woman was clearly possessed by a demon. Her pale face and fangs showed it all. She had no sense of what or whom she was eating.

The wife gave out a loud scream and the husband rushed towards the old lady to push her away. The old woman fell off the bed and jumped out through the window. The husband grabbed his son and dragged his wife and babysitter out of the house. They yelled for help from the neighbours and soon a few people had come out. The husband explained what had happened while a doctor attended to the baby. The neighbours were equally shocked but they were determined to get the demon. They rushed to the old lady’s house but found no one at home. So, they broke into the house, running from room to room looking for the old lady, but she was no where to be found. They all ran back out to see if she have got out of the house. One of the neighbours spotted someone on top of the roof and started to call out for the others.

The neighbours surrounded the house and tried to get her down by throwing rocks at her. However, the harder they try the louder she would laugh at them. So, they decided the only way to get her down and to get rid of her at the same time was to burn down the house. They moved whatever valuables out of the house and started burning the house from inside. Stubbornly, the demon was still on top of the roof. Everyone was standing around the house seeing it burn down with the old lady on top. As the house was burning into an inferno, the demon is still up there, taunting at them and running around up on the roof. Soon, she was trapped in the fire. As the house collapsed, the old lady fell down with the house. They all heard a blood-curdling scream that is so evil. And then there was silence and that was the end of it. The next day, they searched the burnt down house but couldn’t find any ashes. All they found was a very small skull. Nobody knew what happened to that old lady or her family. Rumours had it that they had moved out of town and the old lady had died before that night. What the people saw that night was the demon that had taken over the body of the old lady.

This story may have sound like a story in the movies, but it did really happen in a small town in Vietnam long ago. Sometimes in life there is a lot of unexpected things. Seeing ghosts or listening to a ghost story is one. But, there are more out there than just ghosts. You see, my opinion is ghosts don’t really hurt you, but demon. Now that’s another story. They are as good as deranged lunatics.

The “Hellish” House

Posted in HDB, Nightmare, Toa Payoh on April 23, 2008 by hungzaibackup

The story I’m going to tell you is true. It happened at my previous house at Toa Payoh (Location: the block opposite Phillip Factory Lorong 1). I shall not expose which floor I actually live so as not to frighten the existing occupant (just in case they read this site).

This incident happenned many years ago. When my parents got married, they bought this unit and a year later they got me. At first, no eerie incidents happened but the moment I was born… all the nightmares began!!

You see, my parents were young at that time (25 yrs old) & still working. So, most of the time they’re not at home. Sometimes they sleep at my grandparents house. But only after they got me, that they spend more time at home and my mum resigned from her work to take care of me full-time.

According to my mum, when they first brought me home from hospital, I refused to step into the house by crying hysterically as if noting there’s an existence in it..

But my parents ignore the signs, and brought me in without having a second thought. And on that night itself, something happened….

At around 3am, my parents who were sleeping in the living room with me, heard clinking sound of keys, as if worn around the waist of “somebody” in the kitchen toilet..

The sound grew louder and water gushing out from the tap in the toilet as if someone is relieving his “business” there. Then the toilet door was heard to be swing open and footsteps walking towards the living room!!

My mum and dad was terrified but keep cool and recite all the prayers they knew. My mum managed to keep her eyes slightly open because she was curious to see who it was. To her shocked, there… standing at the Kitchen door was this tall black guy staring down at her with his bright red eyes throughout the whole night & disappeared by dawn.

Due to that incident, my mum was down with fever for many days. Even by then, I was still crying day & night… even some of the neighbours popped in to ask what happen to me!! (I guess my cries have cause some inconveniences in their sleep!!)

My mum told them she do not know why I kept crying. Then, came the revealation of the strange happenings in the house…

According to one of the neighbours, a Chinese family ever reside here and the grandfather committed suicide by hanging himself in the room (which is my room, no wonder!). They moved out of that unit because one of the grandchild actually saw their grandfather walking IN the kitchen wall…

That explains why during my primary school days I always wonder why there is a kind of nudge (a metal hook) at the ceiling in my room… came to think about it maybe… that is the place where he hangs himself!! (Err, scary man..) Well, this is not all… wait till you hear what my dad encounters!!

One night, my mom & dad quarrelled over some small matter. My mum got so angry, she picked me up & went to her parents’ house leaving my dad alone at home.

Everthing seems ok but not when it was about 12 midnight.. My dad was sleeping in my room (you know, that rooomm!), and he heard someone in the kitchen washing dishes.. He thought it was my mum (his wife) but then he recalled, no, it was not his wife because his wife has left earlier on… Who is this in the kitchen??

His heart beats faster… he tried to console himself that it was his imagination but no, he heard footsteps coming towards the room… Guess what he saw?? A lady who exactly looked like my mum (his wife)!! He trembles, close his eyes and began to recite prayers. At that moment he can feel the cold smooth hand touching his own hands and caressing him, he then feel “her” lying down beside him..

Yeah, I know it’s hard to believe it. Fancy having a ghost sleeping beside you.. that must be a “gatal” (means mischieveous) ghost!! But that’s the truth.. My dad tried to reach for the “Surah Yassin” that is placed above the bed head but seems that his hands got numb and heavier everytime he tried to stretch it further… (Must be that ghost trying to prevent him from doing so!!)

So, you know what happened next? The ghost hugged my poor dad throughout the whole night and left by dawn. And the moment she left, my dad quickly ride on his bike and find my mum at his in-law’s house and told her the whole story. My mum laughed at him and even joke, why didn’t he make love to that ghost?? But my dad was too shocked and trembled that he stayed dumb the whole day..

OK, you have heard about my dad encounters.. now it is my own encounter..

There were always these 3 things that disturbed me throughout my 20 years living in that room. (Practically, it happens every night without failed)

1) My bed will suddenly shake in the middle of the night as if a vibrator has been placed underneath the bed (I ever braved myself up & peep around but no one was around to shake the bed),

2) I would encounter both legs to be cramped in the middle of the night (after reciting some prayers & rubbing the legs the cramped soothe away),

3) The scratching sound at the aluminium window as if done by a sharp long fingernails (Could it be the Pontianak?) Only God knows!!

And there is only one incident that I could not possibly forget throughout my whole life… it is the nightmare that I had!!

One night I dreamt that I was being dragged by a very strong force from my bed till my room door.

It seems so real because I’m sure that I feel that bed shaking again before being dragged down from the bed to the floor like a hostage..

I tried to shout for help but my voice couldn’t come out.. I feel choke and couldn’t breathe…I recite all the prayers I know… but still this “fellow” dragged me!

I was in a state of giving up but I tried again this time by shouting “ALLAH THE GREATEST, THE ALMIGHTY” 3 times!! And that “fellow” dropped me so hard to the floor exactly at my room door..

I suddenly woke up from my dream and thank God, I was still on my bed and not at the room door! I was so shaken by the dream (because it seems so real and I can actually feel my back aches) that I slept with my parents for the next 1 month.

Although I have stayed for 20 years, surprisingly I only get to hear the Pontianak humming a song once directly outside my window and that is good enough to make my hair stand.

Due to all this unwanted incidents, my parents had actually consult a bomoh to cleanse the house. It is found that the disturbance came from a ghost called “Jerangkong”… (maybe the unrest soul of that suicide grandfather)!!

Although the house has been cleanse and the ghost has been thrown to the nearby forest (behind Phillip factory near to Thompson), that “fellow” still come back to the house… except that he couldn’t enter due to the protection.

Well, funny but true… there’s one time we found a few baby footings in black shade on the upper part of our front door. And in my room itself, at the aluminium window there are four finger print (as if someone is trying to open the window from outside). Though we try to clean it off with detergent, it still can’t be erased… so we paint over it.

And throughout i stay there for 20 years, it was like hell… my parents always quarrelled with each other and they even come to a stage of divorce! Luckily, we are able to calm down and did more prayers together… This helps to improve the unexplained strange feelings surrounding the house…

It’s true, even when we’re performing prayers, we can even feel that something is watching us or surrounding us like a vulcan and its prey!!

We could no longer stand such things and finally agreed to buy this new house at Hougang and move out from that “hell” house!! I’ve stayed at this Hougang house for nearly 3 years and so far no weird incident happen.

Except that I miss the shaking of the bed, you know, fancy living with it for 20 years and suddenly it just gone with the wind.. it is a bit not the norm… (ha..haaa..haaa)

And the best part, the occupant who took over the unit after we left is a Chinese family. And it happens to be my younger brother’s primary-schoolmate.

Well, I wish them good luck… Hope nothing bad happen to them…

Pontianak

Posted in Nightmare, Strange Incident on April 23, 2008 by hungzaibackup

Along the North-South highway in Malaysia, there are various spots marked with sign alerting drivers of crosswind. The dual carriageway is one of the world’s most advance expressway and hence, when designing it, one would assume that the planners would not have built it with crosswind sections. The expressway is open for 24 hours and thousands of vehicles use it everyday. However, there is hardly anyone who has seen the wind indicator marking the presence of such claimed crosswind.

I found out later that these sections are actually black spots for ‘mystery accidents’. As all these sections are neither winding nor slippery, the authorities could not find any explanation of those accidents. A study revealed that those areas are either cemetery sites of the local tribe before the highway was built, or they were the so-called ‘dark’ areas by the local tribes. Therefore, those crosswind warnings were put up just to warn drivers so that they are more alert and careful as they were driving along those stretches, especially at night since the highway is not lighted.

None of the accidents are, however, worth mentioning here. No one has ever reported seeing a ghost or spirit driving them away from their senses or any sort of unexplained phenomena happening there.

Nevertheless, there is an incident that happened on the highway that has caught the attention of a lot of people. This incident does not happen along any of those crosswind sections but, instead, near the tunnel on the northern section of the highway. Before approaching the tunnel, drivers will go through highly areas with the hill on one side and a sharp cliff on the other. The sharp bends caused the authorities to put the speed limit down to 80kmph (110kmph for most of the highway).

This story went public the first time when someone called in to the radio during a ghost story programme. What make this story even more interesting are the several calls later from witnesses and relatives to verify that the story is true.

The incident happened on a Malay couple with a small baby. They were driving along the expressway on a late night. It must have been past 2am then and there aren’t many private cars at those hours. As they got near the tunnel, their car broke down. Perhaps it is the hilly road, which put a lot of stress on the car, that caused the car to broke down more than anything else.

The man stopped his car along the emergency lane and got off the car to see if there was anything he could do. His wife was sitting at the back of the car with their baby then. He got off the car, opened up the engine and apparently was doing something there. The wife just waited in the car with their baby since she is the type of people who has the slightest idea about cars. As the engine cover was turned up, the lady could not see what her husband was doing in front. Then, there was no noise at all. She started to get worried. Perhaps more worried about not being able to get out of there than if there would be anything wrong with her husband. Then the baby started crying. She carried her up and tried to calm her down. However, the baby kept crying and crying.

Afterwards, she noticed two police cars drove by. They slowed down as they past her. As she thought they would stop, the police cars suddenly sped off. Then she heard a shrieking break of the police cars ahead. Apparently, the police stopped their cars under the lights of the tunnel about 100 metres ahead.

Then, she started hearing the policemen shouting at her. They shouted at her and asked her to get out of the car and run towards them. She got panic upon hearing that. Then, worry about her baby’s and her own safety, she grabbed her baby, got out of the car and started running as fast as she could towards the policemen. As she was running, they kept shouting at her to hurry and asked her not to look back. As she almost got to where the policemen were, she suddenly thought of her husband. She turn her head back to take a look while continued running. To her horror, she saw three ‘pontianak’ (see notes) with lots of blood on their mouth. She saw one of them holding her husband’s head and licking off the dripping blood while two others were busy sucking the blood from the man’s body.

Two policemen, fearing that she may stop running upon seeing that, rushed to her and dragged her into one of the police car. They shot off as fast as they could after that. Seven policemen witnessed this incident. When the police got there, the man was lying there headless and ‘bloodless’. The police, after interviewing the widow and the seven policemen who witnessed the incident, decided to close the case.

In the radio programme, someone called up later to say that he was one of the policemen there at that time while another called up claiming to be the victim’s uncle. He said he refused to believe the story and had applied for the case to be reopened for investigation. He believes it was a murder case. Another caller said his sister, the widow, was distressed after the incident and he appealed to all listeners to believe that the story is true and be more careful on the highway.

Notes on Pontianak’:

Otherwise known as ‘hantu kuntilanak among the Indonesians’. There are many stories of the Malay vampire, commonly known to the locals in Malaysia as pontianak. They have long hair and are usually thought of as females. They kill their victims and then suck their blood. There are, however, different opinions on the origins of this pontianak.

The most common belief is that the pontianak is usually the ghost of a woman who died during childbirth, and she returns as a vengeful spirit who hates to see other women have what she couldn’t. So these spirits would seduce men by appearing to them as a beautiful woman, and once they’ve lured the unsuspecting males, will proceed to suck the life out of them. They are also known to turn up at a childbirth and ’steal’ the new-born baby away. They do steal young women’s life too as it is believed that the latter’s blood will keep them going.

An Indonesian friend of mine told me that hantu kuntilanak are actually victims of road accidents who had lost a lot of blood in those accidents. Therefore, they transform themselves into bloodsucking ghosts.

Perhaps the only reason they are called vampire is because they suck blood. Otherwise, pontianaks do not have characteristic of the Western version of vampire. They have more characteristics possessed by ghosts but are much more violent. Hence, in my opinion, the term ‘vampire’ may not be such a suitable term to call them but ‘pontianak’ should be a more appropriate term.

Possessed While Gambling

Posted in Nightmare on April 23, 2008 by hungzaibackup

As the 16th of every month was pay day, some workers went all the way to gamble as most Singaporean too obsessed with gambling. The place where this gambling took place was an unused aircon storeroom which my colleague in the Engineering Dept got hold of the keys as there will be no interrupted for this illegal activities. There are 4 persons involved in this game called PAIR CALL starting from $0.50cents.

They started at about 5.30pm but nothing unusual happens. At 8pm, the gambling becoming more intense and Johan(the victim) is winning all the time, the cards must be very friendly to Johan. 9.30pm past and Johan start complaining that he is very hungry and felt cold while the others perspire non stop partly of the weak aircon power and the days’ loss. As the game PAIR CALL need to speak out how much the person wants to increased the sum e.g. $1 or more and it’s Amir(another colleague) on the left that upped the sum to $1 and waited for Johan to answer if he wanted to follow and Johan as usual increased the sum but NOT LOOKING at Amir but BEYOND Amir, which is as far as the eye could see. There was NOBODY there, only old stuff from our previous company before shifting to West Coast. After this puzzling events, Johan left the cards on the table and raised his arms as to say the national anthem but suddenly his hands start shaking violently and keeps saying “What is happening to me” At first we thought that he suffered a stroke. We seated him on an office chair(movable) and rushed him outside for some fresh air and ask him to speak something but he lies there motionless, the time was about 10.15pm.

Soon more reinforcement came as there was seen as a commotion. Soon Amir start talking to Johan to think of God(finally) and at that time Johan raised his face, looked left and right and finally gave a SINISTER “the EXORCIST” smile and we panic but Amir kept strong and start to read religious words into Johan ears and forehead and that time there was calm at last.

Soon, a friend who own a car ferried Johan back home with Amir and Zul (another colleague)…the time 11.00pm. We reached Hillview(Johan’s house at about 11.30pm and after explaining to Johan’s wife that he collapse at work and be on our way home separately. The friend’s car and Zul went back to work as they are on night shift but Amir went home(Marsiling).

At 11.50pm, Amir who make Johan back to reality feels something is NOT RIGHT as if SOMEONE or SOMETHING was following him home. As he reach Sim Siong near Marsiling MRT, since it’s almost midnight, the area was quiet and Amir walked hurriedly home.

Suddenly a WHITE CLOTH(bundled) came GLIDING on his left and right passing him several times and the situation become tense and Amir who is strong will starts reciting religious words and keep telling the UNKNOWN to go away and return to where IT belong. Amir reached home at 12.15am and took off his shirts and left it outside for the night and can’t sleep that night.

The next day, Amir told us that nothing happened at home and anxious to know what happened to Johan as we failed to get reach of him as we call but there was no response. But at 10.30am my friend finally reached him on his cell phone and he was taking one day medical leave and assured us that everything was FINE…..so we HOPE. We can only find out tomorrow when he return to work!!

The Mansion

Posted in Hotel, Nightmare on April 22, 2008 by hungzaibackup

It was two years ago when my friend and his other friends decided to go for an adventurous holiday in Malaysia.

They went there by train. They rested at a cheap motel and woke up the next morning. They actually wanted to go to a nearby jungle area near the town. But when they asked around for transport to take them to the jungle, all the taxi drivers refused. They were frustrated at the way the people acted. They then sat at a nearby coffee shop to rest. They then planned what they were going to do. When their drinks were served the old man overheard them talking. He then told them that the taxi drivers refused because the place was not clean and no one dared to go there especially at night even during the day time no one dare to go there. They then asked the old man how they could go there, the old man refused at first then my friend offered him some money and then he agreed as my friend offered him $200. He asked his elder son to send my friend to the jungle. At first he refused but as his father told him the money involved in it, he agreed.

They left the coffee shop around 5 p.m. and they left in a mini bus. The journey took them about 3 hours. When they reached the place the man asked them to walk on the path way in the jungle and rest first at a mansion where there will be people staying and will allow them to rest at the mansion. They ask the man how much must they pay for resting at the mansion, the man said that the couple who owns the mansion are nice people and would not ask them to pay for resting at their place. They thank the man and paid the man the money. The man said they should walk quickly as it was going to rain. They walk quickly and they finally reached the mansion.

It was an old mansion with big gates and a high wall covering the property of the owners. They then rang the old bell that rang the whole house. Then an old man opened the gate and a well-dressed man in a suit greeted them. They told the man about their problem and the old man brought them to the owners of the house. The owners were two elderly people. They talked to the couple and the couple agreed to let them stay there for a night. The owners had three servants, a butler, a nurse and a gardener. They then were served food for dinner. After dinner they decided to sleep, as they were tired. A bell then waked them up in the morning. They then freshened up and went down for breakfast. After breakfast they thanked the couple and went out to continue their hike to the jungle. They then turned back and saw that the house was condemned and they saw the old couple and the servants waving at them. To their surprise they saw the couple wearing a white cloth covering their whole body and only showing their face. As for the gardener he’s neck was covered blood, the butler face was burnt and the nurse was covered with injections. They ran out shouting until they ran to the road and stopped a truck.

The driver asked them what were they doing out here. They kept quiet and insisted the driver bring them to the coffee shop in the nearby town. When they reached the coffee shop the old man asked why they returned so fast. They were shocked and ask the man how long they were gone and he old them that they were only gone for a few hours. They were shocked and sat down in silence. The old man advised them to stay at his home till tomorrow comes. They woke up and told the man what happened and what they saw. He was angry with his son for what at happened. His son apologized and regretted that he did not sent them to the mansion personally. The old man told them that all the people staying and working in the mansion died horribly. The butler was killed while he was boiling water for his master. The master was killed next as he ate wrong medicine. The nurse then died because she fell down the stairs and the syringe poked into her throat, which caused her to lose a lot of blood. Then the old lady died because there was no nurse to bring her the medicine. After the death of the old lady the gardener stopped work but it was too late for him as he was later found hanging on the tree branch with a gardening tool choking his neck to death and was bleeding continuously even after they sewed up his neck.

After they heard about the story they went to a bomoh where he told them that they need to be careful as the evil spirits is following them. As a precaution the bomoh gave them talisman for protection. After the incident the spirits did not hurt or endanger their lives

They went home and told me about what happen and I am now writing it to u guys but remember it is a true story and sorry that I can’t tell u guys where it is.

I Believe Because

Posted in Army Story, Nightmare, Pulau Tekong, Spiritual on April 22, 2008 by hungzaibackup

Like you, i was not a believer of supernatural. But after one incident that happened to the front of my two eyes, i’m afraid i have to think twice about it. I remember the year was 1995, i was enlisted for army after my poly and my enlistment date was beginning of august. As a young man, i drink, smoke, fight, what kind of thing never do before? What kind of thing in army can be so tough that I will cry mummy? Never…no such thing, at most if instructor lao lan, then report sick lor.

On my enlistment day, the next day is an important day, the start of hungry ghost festival, so first night when we went down for night snack, i was amazed by what i saw. I dont know whether you been to Tekong but my camp was camp 3 i guess is belong to sispec now. The entire parade square and the basketball court and the road outside which they called the Tekong Highway, the perimeter of it, imagine how long? at least 1 km? Entire perimeter filled with candles, at least a few thousand candles. This is very funny, army people so fit, use gun to fight enemy, put up candles? For what? I don’t know for what, but 2 weeks after my enlistment, one night when we were training pull up at the pull up bar which is behind our building, believe or not, we saw several high ranking officers at least majors and above, all burning joss paper. What is the reason? I dont know, i still dont believe because if there is ghost, why never appear in front of me?

Until one day, one night infact, that time, handphone wasn’t that popular yet so most people will queue up at the phone booth especially after lights off. Illegal actaully so have to be tactical, i finished my call to my gf so i quickly double up to my bunk, i think should be around 1030 or so. Just when i entered my bunk, I saw a figure standing facing at the window, facing the back of our building which is the forest. So then i looked around and noticed the last bed is empty so must be him, bear in mind it was very dark since its lights off. So i went over to him and call him “hey, you ok?”, no response. So i call again “oi, you ok not?” Suddenly, he give out a very big shout “WAHHHHHHHHHHH” and acted like wanted to climb out through the window! At this time a few of the bunk mates was awoke suddenly and wondered what happened, i myself dont even know how to explain to them, then i quickly switch on the lights and see what he is trying to do, fucking hell i thought he gone mad, coz he was trying to hug the window pane like a spiderman. So all of tried to bring him away from the windows and can you imagine, 15 guys cannot even manage 1 man. He was so powerful, his hand can throw you one side. We can quickly call our duty instructor and he informed our OC who was sleeping in the bunk. He came with our encik. I remember my OC was Captain Nazari and my encik was frederik lim who was a former ranger instructor.

When they arrived, i can see they were shocked too, my encik then bring out a beret from his pocket and point the crest at that recruit and shouted ” Whoever you are, this is a command…and you get out of him…NOW!!!!!!” And believe or not…that guy just collapsed on the floor….unconscious. Then they move him to the clinic and the doctor observed him for the rest of the night. What happened i dont know but what i heard was this, after dinner , a group of 4 guys went to smoke but instead of the yellow box, they went to the 6th storey and the toilet facing the forest, which was an isolated corner, so they start smoking and chatting away. Now what happened was that toilet belong to Jaguar company and Jaguar do not have any batch at that time so the toilet was left locked. They were chatting loudly and suddenly, inside the toilet, there was a loud sound like people start throwing chairs or tables around. Upon hearing the sound, they all ran, except for one guy. That guy is the guy that got possessed. After they fall in for night snack, nobody noticed anything and until 1030 when he was standing at the window thats when i noticed him. Well i dont believe in supernatural in the past, but after this incident, i dont believe also cannot.

Gunung Ledang (Mount Ophir)

Posted in Nightmare, Strange Incident on April 22, 2008 by hungzaibackup

It was in June 1998. A group of NSmen from Bedok Police Station decided on a trekking expedition up Mount Ophir. We heard of stories of the mythical beings of Gunung Ledang e.g. The Princess of Gunung Ledang whose beauty mesmerises men into falling in love with her and join her into the immortal world within the thick refuge of Mount Ophir.

It was a tiring hike for some of us and we reached Base Camp, which is halfway up the mountain, by 1600hrs. There was a pool for us to dip in. Cool, refreshing mountain similar to Salem High Country advertisement. We retired to sleep by 2230hrs for the following day’s hike up to the Summit. Two of my friends tried to do something extrodinary, unknown that the worse is yet to come. They tried meditation….as the verses continued, strong gusts of wind blew from behind them. As soon as they started the verses again, the wind blew… It was quite an ordeal for them that they were wondering what went wrong?

The hike to the Summit went on the next morning at 1000hrs. Along the way, we met several groups of Singaporean hikers descending from the Summit. Then we stumbled on this particular hardy Malaysian hikers group. They were fast hikers and hiked to the Summit with ease. Soon we reached the Summit. It was an eye-catching atmosphere! Fresh mountain oxygen with no impurities! While admiring the view, we realised that the Malaysian group were seating crosslegged in a circle and chanting, the meditation-style. Why should meditation be done here, in the Summit? We left as soon as we recharged our energy levels. We descending with ease to base camp.

At base camp, we prepared ourselves for the descend down to the foot of the mountain. We left at 1830hrs for a Night Hike down. Along the way, we met a group of Singapore secondary school students with their teachers making their way up to Base Camp. After giving these young adolescents not to give up their ascend, we continued on. I was the first man. It was 1850hrs and darkness is engulfing around.

Then we heard a voice. “Help! Help! Excuse me anyone! I’m Lost! Somebody help me!” I stopped the convoy to reassure what I heard. It was reconfirmed by the rest. The rest wanted me to go on. The voice continued to plead for help. I insisted that we should find out whose voice it was. One of my friends swore out vulgarities insisting that we should carry on down and not stop for the voice. IT WAS ALREADY 1900HRS AND TO STOP AND DISCUSS ON WHAT TO DO ABOUT A MYSTERIOUS VOICE WAS NOT A GREAT IDEA. We communicated with the voice and found out from the exchange that he was from the earlier Secondary School students and apparently he had drifted away from the group and went through a separate path and gotten lost. We told him to continue talking while some of us bashed through the thick refuge towards the voice. IT was …. in deed an Indian Secondary School boy and he was already scared to be out there alone in the dark. My Troop Leader volunteered to send the boy back. THE BEST WAS YET TO COME….

Our Troop Leader got back with us within 10 minutes as Base Camp was not too far back. We continued on with the descend. Along the way, my “vulgarian” friend has started to get feverish. We volunteered to carry some of his load. The atmosphere was strange. Then, something strange happened to the Last Man. The last two hikers were the ones who were attempting to do the unsuccessful meditation at Base Camp the night before. He seemed to observe some movement following us from the back. AT 1000 FEET ABOVE SEA-LEVEL YOU DON’T SEE PEOPLE IN ROYAL CLOTHES HIKING. And yet, this was exactly what he saw! A group of royalties dressed in the ceremonial Malay royal clothes were walking some distance behind us! Too shaken by the ordeal, he dared not to look back. The condition of my “vulgarian” friend had gotten from back to worse.

By then, it was already 2030hrs and the rain started a slight drizzle. We groped our way down with powerful Maglite Torchlights and fasten our pace. We thought that we had gotten lost. Darkness everywhere and we descended down based on the tracks and markers left behind by other trekkers. We reached the Foot at 2130hrs. The locals were surprised to see us at that hour. We would have gotten lost. We were told that some hikers were even lost within the mountain for several days…..and some were never found, apparently taken refuge in the dense jungle under the wrath of the mythical immortal world. Amazingly, the condition of my “vulgarian” friend had improved and his fever was decreasing.

Later that night, we had a Sharing Session, an after-action review. This was when the Last Man told us about the royal troop walking behind us approximately the same time our “vulgarian” friend got feverish. We were earlier told by the locals not to speak out any unnecessarily along the hike, well, sometimes things got out of hand and we had to bear the consequences. Luckily, nothing disastrous happen to us….or else…

The Ghost Of Madam Wong

Posted in Building, Nightmare, Orchard on April 22, 2008 by hungzaibackup

For those who party alot …. read on Really very good guide for those who cheong a lot. My friend was at Mdm Wong over the weekend and it’s just another usual nitespot…. crowded, loud and…. yeah, pretty happening. The place is short of nothing but traditional chinese decors with walls painted red everywhere. It was until when he go to the backyard that he saw a very old and eerie staircase that leads up to darkness.

He couldn’t care then, but the following day, he received the below attached mail. Real coincidence……and if u want to find out how the Mdm Wong used to look like, just walk over to the other end of the row of houses (towards Wong San) and you’ll know what I meant……. For those who cheong a lot…Read on…

The following story is complied with no exaggeration from the words of mouth of my friend’s parents staying around River Valley road.

Along the now Mohd Sultan Rd lived a rich Chinese family during the pre-war period. During the Japanese Occupation, the stretch of houses along the road was seized by the Japanese soldiers and was used as their bunks, since the Japanese had set up a check-point at the junction of the roads.

Their house, in particular, being the last house along that road then, was used as a mortuary to the victims of massacre happened at the River Valley Road area.

After WWII, a rice merchant bought over the house and his mistress shifted in, since it was near to his office around Singapore River and their rendezvous would be made convenient. Two days later, the mistress was found dead with eyes wide-opened and white foams around her mouth. No signs of human inflicted or self-inflicted injuries were found and no trace of forced entry into the house. Police suggested no foul play. Her death was recorded as a result of acute heart attack although doctors were not able to determine the cause of death. This also marked the downfall of the rice merchant. His partner in business bought over this house and his whole family shifted in.

A month later, the partner and his family decided to shift out of the house and wished they had nothing to do with it any longer.. It was said that eerie noises were heard around the house every single night after mid-night throughout their entire one- month stay. Of which included weeping of women, noises produced by sudden shifting of furniture, cries of human, male or female, as if their tongues were being forcefully pulled up etc. What was more intolerable was that stench that smelled like dead rats, which filled the entire house before every daybreak. He sold the house to his friend, who were also in the rice business, at a very cheap price but by goodwill also made known to his friend that the house was haunted. The friend bought the house, noted that it was haunted, decided to use it as a rice warehouse. Coincidentally, for the first 2 consecutive years thereafter on the Lunar Seventh Month, deaths occurred. One coolie died of instant death as two 50kg rice sacks fell upon him. Another dead as a fellow coolie had the rice-sack hook punctured through across his body from his back by accident. Rumors described the coolie’s death as being possessed. Moreover, many sighted headless souls floating about the ceilings. After these accounts, the towkay decided that no works be done around the warehouse for the entire Seventh Month thereon.

When rice business stopped around Singapore River in the 80’s, the warehouse changed hands several times and for almost a decade, it had not been occupied until Mdm Wong took over. The warehouse was deliberately converted to a pub because the owner thought that with crowds of human occupying the place every night will hopefully ward away evil spirits for good. Besides, any eerie noises will be well covered by the loud music and human voices. Anyone ever felt that Mdm Wong’s has something not in the right place, or something of eerie nature/feelings? The ceilings? The toilets? The backyard? Anyone who carries a mobile phone would have noticed that reception is impossible at Mdm Wong’s. Ever wonder why? Leave this to your imagination. When you wish to make a call there. Please, do not walk out to the backyard of Mdm Wong’s (near and accessible via > the male toilet) and climb up the twisted stairs to improve your reception. Because you may not like what you will see, especially during the Lunar Seventh Month….! ….

Old Changi Hospital

Posted in Changi, Hospital, Nightmare on April 22, 2008 by hungzaibackup

This is a true story that was related to me by a colleague of mine who is now working under the same company as I am. As she do not wish to discuss about the matter anymore. I hereby wish to express her fear to all and hope that everyone will take this as a lesson and stop visiting these places.

I believe that all of us share the same opinion over the name “Old Changi Hospital”, is that the place is “haunted”, and I believe that the name has risen in popularity over the years because many different people have different stories to relate about their past experiences there. Personally to be honest with all of you, me myself have not only once, but twice went to that place to explore, certainly out of curiosity. But luckily for me, I did not have any encounters with “them”.

Initially when my friends gave the idea of visiting that place, I thought that it was just another place that was inhabited and people start creating stories saying that they saw ghosts roaming the place. But the moment I saw the building in the distant, the hairs on my hand were already standing at their ends. And the more I got closer, the more scarier it became. All the girls that we brought along were clutching all the males hand, keep on tugging and hushing us to turn back. But the more they tugged, the more determined we became and not long after, we found ourselves at the entrance. The entire building was engulfed in darkness and I could feel my andrenalin rushing. The feeling was undescribable unless you were there to feel it yourself. Finally, due to the horrific sight and the fear that was onrushing, we turned back and headed towards the bus-stop.

That was a personal experience and now, I am about to start the story that occured on my friend…….

The friend of mine is a malay female and she is turning 28 this year. Her name is Siti. This incident happened a long time ago when she was only at the age of 16. That was when Old Changi Hospital was still functioning. On that fateful night, she decided to pay a visit to her friend that was admitted to the hospital. Among her were two of her other friends, both female. As all of them were plain lazy, they decided to take a shortcut at the side of the building facing the carpark. It was a flight of stairs leading to the second storey of the building. Due to the silence and isolation that surrounded that region, few people dared to take the risk and use that staircase. When they were about to climb the stairs, something caught the eye of my friend, she turned around and horrors of horrors, she saw a white body hanging on a tree situated nearby. Her white and long hair were kind of spreading outwards and standing too! She could not see her face because the back was facing her. She was dumbfounded, her legs rooted to the ground. She just could not move but kept staring at “it”. One of her friends who saw it fainted on the spot and the other who still had the sense to know what was happening rushed up and called a few male friends who were already there to come down. By the time they arrived, that thing was already nowhere in sight but my friend Siti, was still in a daze and her eyes were still on the tree. Here comes the funny part, she actually pee in her pants! It took some time for her to regain senses and when she finally came around, she realized that her friends were shaking her vigorously, before she broke down into tears. The guys kept asking what had happened but I guess only the three ladies know for themselves.

The reason why I am telling all of you this is to hope that you all will learn a lesson out of other people’s experience, especially those mischevious ones. Never let your curiosity overcome you because “curiosity killed the cat”. You might not know that you are the next victim. The best is to keep away from “them” and they won’t come and harrass you.

Genting Highlands

Posted in Hotel, Nightmare on April 22, 2008 by hungzaibackup

Ok, this is my true account of my stay in Genting Highlands Resort in the year 1999.

I was there with my sister and 2 cousins. While travelling on the bus to Genting, my cousin, Serene, keep pestering me that she have a ghost story to tell me, that happened in Genting. I didn’t really bother with it in the first place because I don’t believe in ghost.

But anyway, the trip was fun. Until one night.. Because me and my sister was hungry and craving for some night snacks, we went to the first lift on the left down to B6, where they sell hot burger at night. We’ve been there for like twice every year, so we know the area well… But I couldn’t exactly remember which lobby because there were 2 lifts that looked the same. And fealing so hungry, I just jumped right onto the lift that came up first…

Then my sister starts telling me…

‘Eh.. I feel strange leh.. Like something watching me…’

Being abit on the ’slow’ side and thinking that she might be playing a fool with me, I said

‘Siao ah… No video camera around here what…’ I looked around.

Then suddenly ‘DING!’… It was B4.. And my sister saw somebody dressed in Genting highlands uniform trying to come into the lift but being mischevious, I quickly shout to my sister …

‘Ehh… press ‘CLOSE’.. quick, don’t let him come in! hahaha..’ We thought that was fun… But soon, its another story that scare the hell outta me.

We came to B6… There was no burgers! And there is a kinda gate like door that shops used to close down their shop. If you know what I mean. Those aluminium kind. It was right behind me and I thought.. ‘Damn, I came to the wrong floor!’.. I was thinking maybe we can pull up the ‘gate’ and get into the other side.. But it couldn’t be pull up. Its locked. Then I lie on the floor and see whats opposite…

I see alot of feet shuffling to and fro.. And people shouting this and that.. And talking. It was like a typical night market kinda place.

But we were TRAPPED!

My sister said.. ‘hey.. lets go up now and don’t stay here any longer…’ And we went into the lift. But it couldn’t go up! It keeps sounding ‘ding! ding!’ on the floor that we were at. This time. I was scared. Real scared. I look for a staircase. There I was! I saw a staircase at the right side of the lobby. It had discarded cardbox all over the stairs.. And I told my sister.. Hey, lets go up by this way… But it was too dirty…

Suddenly.. we heard a ‘ding!’ in the middle lift. (There were 3 lifts altogether. We’ve tried it, doesn’t work). 2 malay service men came down to our rescue. He looked pale. So do we. Said he..

‘What are you girls doing down here?!’ His voice were shivering, I could hear them.

We replied.. ‘Oh, we’re looking for burgers…’
‘This ain’t the place for burgers! Its the other lift!’
‘oh shit…’ was all we could say… He bring us back to the lobbby.

Frightened, we took at seat at the lobby… Gee.. we were pale thinking that we couldn’t have come out alive there! We were sitting in the lobby talking about it for like 1/2 hr before I saw my cousin Serene. We told her the incident.

‘Omigod!’ was all she could said. Then she told us the story that she wanted to tell me yesterday… She told me that her friend’s uncle is an exorcist.. Those that helps to chase away the spirits. Apparently, he was being asked to Genting at the same B6 lobby to do a ritual for an old women who commited suicide there. Because of that, that level was not for access.

Suddenly, there is goosebumps on my body while I was telling you this. But this is a true story… No wonder my sister felt something watching her. She always have this kinda fealing that is why I don’t believe her. But after this incident, boy was I amazed at what she can do.

As for the man who tried to come in at the B4 level, he was the service man that is trying to stop us from accessing the B6 floor. But how we get there, we have no idea. They were surprised that we could get into B6 because the lift were fixed to stopped only at B4 after the suicide of the old lady.

Now, no wonder there were 2 men coming down to rescue us. Guess they need each other’s company too.
