Camping

Posted in Pulau Ubin, Spooky, Strange Incident on April 23, 2008 by hungzaibackup

This happened when i was in sec 3. At that time, i and a group of us about 10 of us decided to have a camping in pulau ubin. The campsite we chose was secluded from the others campsite. Those who had camping there might know the rubber plantation also known as kampung bahru. Anyway our camping site was further into the forest where there is a small patch of botak land just beside the quarry.

We pitched 2 tents and everthing went as per normal. During the evening we met up with our school mates and so we decided to ask them along. Therefore there were a total of 3 tents aligned in a straight row. The place was known by one of friend since he had camped there before and even had an encounter when they saw a figure was squatting down and and staring at them blankly. He remembered that the face was white, long hairs and blackish around the eyes. The moment my friend turns around, he figure gone.

At night i decided to play some cards in one of the tent. Lets say the tent are numbered 1 – 3 starting from the left. So i went to tent number 3 to play cards. After a while i decided to stop and go sit beside a fire while they still continue. Suddenly, one of my friend came towards me and said “Hey! did you knock on my head” I was surprised as i go out of the tent and went straight to the fire to meet my other frens.

So we just ignored the case. We were chating about 8 of us around the fire while sipping coffee when the same guy said he wanted to knock off and he went into the number 2 tent which had a fire since its at the centre of things. So left about 5 of us. After a while, we decided to knock off too. When we wanted to zip up the tent door, come this friend of mine who wanted to knock off earlier came rushing into our tent! I was surprised but he just said shut up and went to sleep.

When we went back, i asked him what hapened and he told me a story. When he can’t sleep in the tent, he decided to join us outside for a drink. When he went out, he saw none of us since we already going to our number 3 tent. So he look for some coffee and while zipping up the number 2 tent, he saw female figure standing behind the number 1 tent wearing a kebaya and was looking straight at him without any expression!!!. Again my friend said that the figure had a black patch of eyes similar to what he saw few months ago while squatting.

I get my hair standing from writing this !!!

OBS Cubicle

Posted in Extra Mild, Pulau Ubin on April 23, 2008 by hungzaibackup

In 1999, I went for an OBS course. I was in one of the teams whose bunks located on the top most part of the hill. (Can see all the forest and sea).

One night, after an outing with my team members, we all decided to have a bath before going to bed. So all the girls proceeded to the girls’ toilet. When we were there, we realised that one of the shower rooms was locked. We were quite surprised because there ain’t suppose to have anyone in the toilet.

After some time, we got impatient and started to knock and shouted, “Oei! Faster lar! We want to bathe one you know!” Immediately we heard a guy’s voice from the shower room, “Ya ya, I am coming out soon!” All the girls screamed at that moment(it was supposed to be a girls’ toilet!!!)

One of the girls calmly told us that it might be one of the guys, AB, from our group who might have mistaken the girls’ toilet as the boys’. When some of the girls went out of the toilet, they actually saw AB and asked them that they thought he was in the toilet…but he answered, “Nope, i just came back from the canteen.” When all the girls found out about that, we scream even louder! (so the guy in the toilet was not AB, THEN WHO IS HE?!!?) We told the guys about this and they went to the toilet to check out, what the guy told them is that he was not wearing any pants so he cannot make his way out! One of the guys immediately threw in his pants to the shower room…

There were no response at all for sometime…When we look down to look for the foot of the guy …THE ROOM WAS EMPTY!

Fishing At Pulau Ubin

Posted in Mild, Pulau Ubin, Spiritual on April 22, 2008 by hungzaibackup

Hi! I have an interesting story that I think is rather scary. This story was passed to me by my hubby, Khalid. He had so many ghost experience so I decided to tell one of them to you.

This ‘thing’ happened while he was at Pulau Ubin two years ago. Along with two of his friends, Sudin & Ramlan they went fishing. They reached Ubin at 11 p.m. They took half an hour to walk to the NPCC camp. Soon after they reached the destination. They started to pitch a tent and then unpacked their things. After unpacking, my hubby start to fish while two of his friends start a campfire. While they were enjoying the night, suddenly a splash of water fell on Sudin’s right hand. He quickly told them that it was going to rain. So they ignored it. It happened again the second time. This time they was sure that it was not the rain but weird experience. So they try to play safe and be wary of the surroundings. Each of them try to be calm and cool.

Suddenly, there was a loud scream. When they turn around to see, what stands in front of them was a lady floating beneath the huge tree. They could’nt believe their eyes! She was wearing red dress(some sort of) and flying thru’ the air, screaming continously. They wanted to run but it was morning and the route back home is rather eerie. So they decided to stay but hang around each other closely. The ‘thing’ soon fly away and never came back. They was lucky that the ‘thing’ did’nt come close or disturb them. They swear that they will never go Ubin fishing at night again…

Kampong Noordin (Pulau Ubin)

Posted in Mild, Pulau Ubin, Strange Incident on April 22, 2008 by hungzaibackup

I remember this clearly. It was 7 year ago went i went to pulau ubin for a camping trip. There is this place call kampong noordin and our tent locate behind the toilet. We always camp there. I remember very clearly there is a few tomb there locate at the end of the hill.

I remember that night, we were having BBQ till very late at around 0300hr. Then, we sit inside the tent talking. Soon, we feel sleeply. Everybody sleep. Just went we get into our sleep, we hear someone coming from that toilet direction. My friend got up to have a look. Strange. No one there so he take out his cigarette and start smoking.

Later he hear someone was outside kicking our shoe so he went out to have a look. He found that our shoe is not there. So he decide to wake us up. We found our shoe right beside our tent. We place it back the same old place. We zip the tent and light up a candle.

Minutes later, we heard someone walking around our tent and slowly move faster and faster till we hear running noises. We felt very uneasy about this. It seem that there is alot of people running around our tent. Without second thought, we run out of our tent, straight to the toilet area. We stay there till mornning.

Later in the morning, we met this lady who look after the toilet. She told us that we are not the first group of people encounter this.

Lost Souls of Ubin

Posted in Pulau Ubin, Strange Incident on April 22, 2008 by hungzaibackup

These incidents happened while I was doing my final year in secondary school. I was in the NPCC and before our passing out parade, the NCOs suggested that we camped in Pulau Ubin for 3 days and 2 nights.

I have heard so much about that place but as it was my first time, I was very excited.

Nothing happened on our first day and everything seemed pretty normal, but it was during our nightwalk that we encountered some strange things. Every cadet had a partner and we were taken to places like the bridge, kampongs and of course, the infamous rubber plantation.

In the middle of the rubber plantation, there was a long dirt trail that seemed to lead us to the other end. And as we were walking along, suddenly, there was a lady sitting on one of her knees with her head bowed and resting on her hand. We were shocked to see her as it was unsafe for anyone to be alone there. The lady had long hair and wore white from head to toe. Nobody knew who she was and what she was doing there, but at that very moment, one of my NCOs who was behind us… walked quickly to the front! Her face was pale and she looked like she had seen a ghost! But I knew that was a PONTIANAK.

**** After our nightwalk, we were sent back to our camp. Our camp was situated on top of a hill and we had to climb the stairs up. Just below our camp was a toilet… The strange thing that happened was, when we passed by the toilet…I could have sworn I heard male voices talking just outside the toilet. The voices were loud and they were speaking in JAPANESE!! I couldn’t believe what I heard, but I didn’t tell anyone about it.

**** The third incident that happened was even scarier still. It happened that very same night. I was in the tent all ready to sleep when at exactly 12 midnight a cock crowed from nowhere!! I was surprised for as far as I know, they don’t crow late at night.. But it did. And that’s when I heard it… From below our camp, near the beach, I heard screams and gunshots. Voices calling out names (in English!)and piercing screams that I stayed rooted. Not daring to move! I asked a friend of mine and she heard it too! But a couple of friends of mine in the same tent, did not hear anything. We just lay there and listened! The terror lasted for a bloody five minutes and it was then, the cock crowed again! It crowed once and then, complete silence. ****

Back at home, a friend of mine told me that those screams that I heard were those of the British. During WWII, the Japanese would gather British women, men and children in boats and took them to that island. Upon reaching that island, they were told to run. And it was at that moment, the Japs would chase after them, killing them and cutting off their heads as they ran.

Camp In Pulau Ubin

Posted in Pulau Ubin, Scary on April 22, 2008 by hungzaibackup

Ghost. Pontianak. Vampire. These are all stories that I have heard many, many times and by a lot of people. To believe or not to believe. That is the question I always asked myself everytime someone told me of their frightening experience. Does these evil spirits really exists? Well, I was not sure whether I should share my experience with you as I took a very long time to get over this incident. But I guess, for those of you out there who do not believe, will change your mind after reading my encounter.

When I was in college, I was a cadet inspector in the NPCC. I was with a group of cadets in a camp in Pulau Ubin.

That night, it started to rain heavily. So, all our activities for the night which includes a campfire sing-a-long session was cancelled. Instead, the cadets insisted on having a ghost story session to commemorate the cold and rainy night. I just sat down in the corner and listened to their stories. I smiled to myself when I saw that they are hanging on to every word to the story that was being told by one of the inspectors. “Kids!” I said to myself. “They are so naive. Believing in these kind of stories!”

A while later, I felt the urge to go to the toilet and slipped out quietly from the group. As the toilet was about a few metres away, I had to run in the rain. Upon reaching the toilet, I was panting for breath when suddenly all the hair in my neck starts to rise in fear. I told myself sternly that there was nothing to be afraid of even though there was no one else in the toilet and the atmosphere was dark and eerie.

I was just about to relieve myself when I heard water being splashed around. Then the strong jasmine fragrant make me sick. The smell was very, vsery strong. I got curious. And then I heard someone hummimg to herself. I panicked. I was certain that I was in the toilet alone. I was terrified but my curiosity got the better of me. I went from one cubicle to the next and that’s when I saw her!

Her back was facing me. She was wearing a long white gown and she had very long and coarse hair. She was humming and just standing staring at the wall. Gathering all of my courage, I called out to her. “Excuse me. Where did you come from? This toilet is only for the use of the NPCC cadets.”

She ignored me and continued standing and staring at the wall. I called her again and on the third time, she turned slowly. I gulped and felt weak in my knees when she finally turned. We were staring at each other for a full minute. I was too stunned to move and she was obviously enjoying the moment. What I could not comprehend was her face. Her eyes were bloodshot red. Underneath her eyes, were black circles, like she has applied eyeliner, only it was in excess. Her smile revealed long and sharp teeth. She cocked her head to her left and right, left and right. She was very, very ugly. Her skins were peeling and decaying. There were maggots crawling on her face.

Then she came towards me. I tried to backed away or scream but I was rooted to the floor. She came to me with an outstretched arms with her long fingernails. That’s when I realise that she was actually floating towards me. She had no legs!!! I could actually felt her cold hand encircling my neck. I was frozen with fear and tears started streaming down my cheeks. I could not run. Her face was a few inches away from me and I could smell her. She smelt like a decayed animal or something and it was so strong that I felt nauseous. She stared me right in the eye, and she started her shrivelling and high pitched laughter. I blacked out.

When I regained my consciousness, I found myself lying on the toilet floor and the other campers surrounding me. They carried me back to my camp and asked me what happened. I could not bring myself to tell them as I was too afarid to describe what I have seen.

Pulau Ubin

Posted in Mild, Pulau Ubin on April 22, 2008 by hungzaibackup

Well i’ve been in Npcc for the coming 7 years as i join as a cadet inspector in 1998. We were on a camp sometime early this year…annual sec 3 camp…I arrive there quite late as i have lessons in the morning hence reach changi jetty late at about 8.20pm. We had to wait for almost an hour before we caught a board to the island..Cut the story short.

That night, i am in charge of the first sentry duty..the first group came down and report to me and they begin their sentry. Suddenly when they return, 1 malay boy was perspiring hard..and his groupmate shouted saying “He saw something mdm, he saw something. And it was very chaotic.”

I pulled him aside and asked him if his ok..and he said ‘ya’..he just felt a presence…after drinking some water. It’s all back to normal and they continue for their next round.

The next day was a busy day as they had to prepare a lot of stuff for their campfire…That nite a few other CI’s and me decide to bath in the wee hours of morning after campfire and debrief. Then while waiting for them, i decided to go outside and wait…The cold was very unusual and i felt a presence from the shaking palm tree..being a scaredy cat, i quickly rush into the toilet back into the safety of the crowd…

And forget to tell another incident..it is sad that the most haunted place in camp is the flagpole and the green house…and lots of japanese soldiers were killed there during the war. We were telling one another ghost stories bout the green house that suddenly all of us decioded that we should move to the log house as we felt “different”

That night, i were sleeping in my sleeping bag as it was very cold…Then i feel as if there is someone is looking down at me…thinking it ’s one of the CI, i open my sleeping bag and look out…but i find nobody…Then i know something is wrong..That presence came back but i just kept quiet hiding in my sleeping bag.

Then suddenly, there is a dog howling very loudly by the gate…It sound so scarryyy….An officer quickly chase it away. Then, it came back the second time…back after it was chase away..it never come back.

During the camp there, many other officers experience the presence…Now i am thinking twice whether i should go for the June 13th camp….Ooohhhh

Haunted Swiss Cottage on Pulau Ubin

Posted in Chalet, Pulau Ubin, Scary on April 22, 2008 by hungzaibackup

This is a story about me and a group of friends who went to Pulau Ubin for one day and were lucky enough to have experienced all that we did and still manage to come back alive and in one piece..here is our story….

A group of us, totaling about 6 guys headed off to Pulau Ubin in the morning for a day of fun. The outing was impromptu, and all of us just got our stuff together on the next day and off we went by boat to Pulau Ubin. We spent the whole day cycling with me falling off my bike on a steep slope, providing all of us with a good laugh. Other than that, the day passed by quite uneventfully. We had quite a time cycling around the island and getting leg cramps in the process but as night fell we looked for a place to stay…and what a place it was..

It was about 5 in the afternoon, nearing 6 and we were at the deserted Malay Kampung on the west side of the island. The guys parked their bikes on a narrow path leading to the small, rotting wooden jetty, if you could call it that. Since all of the guys were tired out, 3 of the other guys decided to hop down to the beach and walk along the coastline to search for a suitable place to ‘thon’ the night. The other 3 of us, including me and my friends, Weili and the ‘humji’ Jifa were to look after the bikes. The other 3 guys, Jiahao, Yongjun and Kaihan set off across the rocks. Soon after, one of the guys, Jiahao came back to lead us by jungle path to a place that they found-The Swiss Cottage, whose name I was to learn later from an OBS instructor. By the time the rest of us reached there, it was already 6 pm and the woods were just starting to get dark around us. By 7pm, we could no longer make out our surroundings. Some of us decided to explore the house, which seemed to be decades old, with green moss covering the back of the house and all the signs of ageing and rot around, we began our exploration. We started from a storeroom leading to the kitchen. Since we found nothing of interest on the ground floor, we then proceeded up a staircase to the second level. There we found remnants of food cartons and whatnot. The 2 guys leading the whole team then headed down to the ground floor and then it happened..

As the 2 lead guys, Jiahao and Alex went down, they saw the front door of the cottage being kicked violently and with great force from the outside. The other guys, including me just thought that it was some of the guys going down the stairs rather noisily. The 2 of them backed up and yelled for us to come down and see. When we got outside, there was NO ONE!! Armed with some BB guns and torches, we then proceeded to check the surrounding area for any intruders. However, my ‘Humji’ friend, Jifa got the shivers and begged us to call off the search. Reluctantly, we agreed. The rest of the night passed uneventfully except for the fact that the double doors to the kitchen storeroom were open, considering the fact that 2 of my friends had blocked the bottom of the doors with bricks that they found. Nothing happened until after 12am, the ‘witching’ hour…….

At around 12am-1am, we were resting on the concrete jetty away from the house. We were resting quite peacefully and watching the sky for shooting stars. All of a sudden, JiaHao spotted a white flash across the water. Some of the others managed to spot the next few too and some fools in the group started to shine their torches around. However, the others did not spot anything. The next half-hour was spent in peace until the wind started to pick up and the sky turned really dark red. As we made our way up to the house, a gale was already blowing and somehow we managed to take most of our possesions, which consisted of a few bottles of water and some biscuits into the small storeroom where the 6 of us were cramped into that small space. All of us were really tired and hungry by this time and Jifa was so scared that he wrapped himself up in his transparent windcheater and covered his face. I didn’t do too well either, having to sleep next to the entrance to the kitchen. Jiahao and Kaihan didn’t get much sleep at all, what with their uncomfortable resting places on the rattan chairs and having to face the stormy scene outside.

A tropical storm was raging all around us. Rainwater was coming in from a broken window and the wind was slamming one of the other windows in the house violently, creating quite a din. Sounds from the animals of the night seemed to perpetuate the brief lulls in the storm, making it even more frightful. Menancing shadows in the storm suddenly took the form of 2 figures fighting each other as Jiahao would tell us later that morning. Later, when most of the guys had woken up around 5am, we could hear disembodied voices. At first, I thought that it was coming from a radio but there wasn’t any boats or even humans around the jetty, where the voices were coming from…

In the end, we made it back to the ferry point safely the next morning, except for Jiahao, who reported the most ’sightings’. He had a bad spill on a 45-degree slope on our way back to the ferry point but apart from all that, we made it back to the mainland safely by the grace of God. If anyone wants a really frightening experience, try Pulau Ubin. It won’t disappoint you!!

Pulau Ubin

Posted in Pulau Ubin, Spooky on April 21, 2008 by hungzaibackup

One day during the holiday, a couple of friends and myself, decide to go to Pulau Ubin to camp. There was around 10 of us, i couln’t remember the exact number. After about 1 hour ride of ferry and push bikes, we arriived at the site. I am not quite sure what the name of the place is but it is quite beautiful. Its a kind of place where you can see sun rise and all.

It was around 11.40pm and we had a bon fire going. The night was calm, no wind, no one, just the ten of us. we were just chatting and joking around, and daring ourself to do stupid things, like peeing in bushes( apparently it is not a “respectful” thing to answer to nature’s call without apologizing). We realised that at the time but we just didn’t care being all young and naive. I believed in those things, but some of my friends didn’t. So we decided to split into two groups, one who believed in “it” and one who doesn’t believed in “it”. We made deal that the people who managed to find things associated with supernatural themes becomes the winner of the game. The winner of the other team reserved the right to do whatever they want with the loser. Ok its round 12.12 am. We split and decide to meet up again in around 1 hour. We set our clock, and agreed final meeting place. And off we go.

Me and “fatty” being very close friends start scavenging for thigs. We found it pretty boring. Its around 12.23 am when fatty decide to let himself go in the nearby bushes. He was whistling some tune. I was waiting for him, with my back towards his. Suddenly, i heard a strange tune coming from nearby bushes. I sensed something strange. I asked fatty whether he heard the tune. He said no. I thought is just my mind playing games on me. He continued to pee again. Note: this happened with matter of seconds. Suddenly i heard someone laughing. It was a faint laugh, the kind of laugh that crazy people would give out. Sad, angry, at the same time, despaired laugh. I turned around and i saw fatty’s back of the head. I called out to him “pui kia kin laa!” anxiously. He didn’t respond. I tried not to ask fatty afraid that “someone” can hear me i repeated myself again, but no reaction. I decided to give him a light poke in the arm. He looked at me, slowly turning his head towards me, i saw the corner of his eyes bright white, his teeth become apparent yellow, his hairs with larvae and a disgusting smell. I gathered my courage and slapped him across the face twice. His face turned into this undescriable look, sort of double pesonality, one of his and one of “it”. I decide to call my other friends and we all chanted prayers, and he became fine ^_^

Have You Finish?

Posted in Chalet, Mild, Pulau Ubin on April 21, 2008 by hungzaibackup

When i was in sec 2, my school organised a camp for the secondary 2 students. It was a 3 days 2 night camp. The camp was held at Pulau Ubin Campsite.

The first day there …. everything goes smoothly….no eerie sightings was heard among my friends. On the second day, at around 9 pm, i brought my dirty clothes to the toilet with the intention of washing them. I thought no one else was in the toilet.

As i was washing my clothes near the sink, i realised that one of the cubicles had its door closed and i heard some noise coming from inside the cubicles. As i was pretty bored, i began to strike up a conversation with whoever was inside. When i said hello, the other person reply by sayin hello. Soon, we were talking. The ‘person’ told me that he was also in pulau Ubin as he was also having a camp with his friends. So we chatted and chatted.

Then out of sudden, the other person stopped talking. Out of curiousty, i peep under the cubicle door. I was shocked when i realised that no one was in there. I quickly said out load that i had finished my laundry. Suddenly a lady voice was heard saying, “Have u really finised or did u just find out?” After saying that, the voice gave an eerie laughter.

At that very moment, i ran out of the toilet and went into my tent. I was lucky as nothing happened after that. Only God knows who that was.
